Patriot Rally

This is a performance that we work very hard to prepare and perform for the DBU student body. We compete against other greek life organizations on campus. If you win at the patriot rally performance for the sorority section, you advance to Battle at the Burg. This is a competition between the winning sorority and fraternity. ADK has won both Patriot Rally and Battle at the Burg in both 2019 and 2020!

Pre-Rush

This is a time where we get to engage with the rush candidates before the week of recruitment. For many girls, this is their first time meeting members of ADK. The events normally lasts around 2 hours. Light refreshments are offered as girls chit-chat throughout the evening.

Recruitment

One of our fall engagements is Rush! Through this week long process, we meet all girls rushing for a sorority. This is such a sweet time to meet new faces on campus, as well as bond as a sisterhood. At the end of the week, our organization grows and we have many new girls to love on!

Bid Day

Bid Day is always the Friday of Rush week. This is when our new members get to run home to ADK. Their first night in the sisterhood is spent celebrating with dinner, music, good company, and dancing. This night is many active members’ favorite of the fall semester.

Greek Games

This event calls all our competitive sisters. Starting early in the morning, we compete against all other greek life organizations in various activities. ADK has won Greek Games both in 2020 and 2021. This is the first year that Greek Games will be hosted in the fall semester. We’re coming back to win for the third year in a row!!

Homecoming

DBU celebrates Homecoming in November, along with our Men’s basketball team. The week before the Homecoming game, Greek Life organizations create Homecoming floats. There is a contest to see who can create the best design. This week allows members to bond as an organization with their new pledges.

Snowflake Ball

Our formal. Snowflake Ball was founded in 2009. This dreamy evening creates an environment for many unforgettable memories. Members dress in gowns and invite dates to join them for a night like no other, full of class and sass.

Initiation

This evening is dedicated to establishing our prior pledges as new members of Alpha Delta Kappa. Members dress in Black dresses and arrive either pinned as active members or awaiting their ADK pin. The initiation process is dedicated to honoring past alumni and Jesus for blessing us with the sisterhood we have. Be bond over prayer, our creed, and our sisterhood song, as well as hearing from executive council members.

Big / Lil Reveal

Reveal takes place the same evening as Initiation. Right after pledges are officially pinned into the sisterhood, our ADK families grow. New members receive their Bigs. This evening is filled with so much love! Leading up to this Friday, recent pledges are spoiled for a whole week by their awaiting Bigs. After celebrating with all the sisterhood, families break off into their own groups for their own time to hang out and create new memories as a fam, even starting or cherishing family traditions.

Spring Sing

One of DBU’s most loved events. Yet another competition between Greek Life here on campus, we compete with 12 minute original skits. They are a mixture of singing, dancing, and acting. These shows are created but our very own sisters from start to finish. All members of Alpha Delta Kappa partake. The preparation bonds our sisterhood immensely and takes place for months before the performance. By show day, we can’t wait to perform! ADK has won “Best Set Design” both in 2020 and 2021.

Spurs & Pearls

Our signature Spring event. Everyone loves our semi-formal. This event is themed with Texas-rooted two stepping. The evening is filled with lots of food, friends, and dancing of course. Every girl gets to bring a date of their choosing, while wearing the cutest spring dresses you’ve seen around.

Ladies’ Brunch

This event allows members to bring influential women in their life to a morning brunch. Alumni are invited back to reconnect and meet new faces. Women share a meal with good company and a time to honor our sisterhood, and dedicate it to our Heavenly Father. ADK’s roots were established to honor God in service and life.
